I love my smoothies! It’s how I start my day, every day. They taste great and they’re the perfect way to pack in more fruits and veggies. Having a smoothie everyday is an ideal way to start adding in more plant-based foods if you’re not used to eating that way.
Other Benefits of a Daily Smoothie
Make sure your smoothie has good carbs (fruits and veggies), proteins (nuts, seeds, protein powder, and yes even greens and avocado have protein), and good fats (dairy-free nut milk like coconut, hemp or almond, coconut oil, avocado) and you’ll have yourself a complete meal. Replacing one meal a day with a smoothie like that is also an excellent way to drop a few of those pesky pounds.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups of dairy-free milk or water (I prefer coconut milk)
- 1/2 cup fresh spinach
- 1/2 avocado
- Handful of fresh parsley
- 1 cup berries, your choice
- 1-inch piece of fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon*
- 1 teaspoon honey or Stevia to taste
- Ice (optional)
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients into your VitaMix or blender and blend until smooth.
Notes
*I replace the cinnamon with nutmeg because I have a sensitivity to cinnamon. Nutmeg is my go-to replacement whenever a recipe calls for cinnamon.
